OLD STUFF

I've got a soft spot for the late fifties. Saturday Afternoon is an example of this. I think I'm charmed by the naivetee of the 'rockers' thinking they were really rebelling against something, something cultural, something that was of significance. God, how nice would a step back to these times be?

Balanced composition, cool colors, fun subject matter, manneristic handling of both the technology and the human form, and a molecule of red to show how masterful I am at the warm tones. Okay, so it's not that masterful. The piece was fun to paint, and is still fun to look at.

Next we'll peek into a darker series, a series that explores, well, darker stuff.
