OLD STUFF

Unfortunately, this is one of the only pictures I have of the sub-series of work that the gesture paintings became. Dozens of these hybrid works were sold through Ken Hagopian, a Chicago-based art distributor, so I have very little record of where they ended up. These paintings incorporated the slashing gestural compositions of the landscape-based pieces, and added a layer of formalism by way of grids, rectangular frameworks, and geometric accessorization.

This is a good stopping point. While there were small forays into subsequent series of paintings over the next 12-15 years, most of these works were experimental. Truthfully, over these years I was fundamentally distracted from my art, focusing instead on the world of science and technology, and making quite a career of this more tractable, more finite universe (the universe of computer science and Information Technology).
